6-month Stats

Owen has his 6-month wellness exam today and he is growing right on track. He is now up to 16lbs 13oz (35th percentile) and 25 ¾ inches (25th percentile). His pediatrician also said that she could see some swelling in his bottom gums…teeth are coming. No guess as to when…but they are on the way! Owen was quite the trooper with his shots today and only cried for a brief moment…and as you can see, he is doing just fine now.

Happy 1/2 Year!

Owen is 6 months old today! Our little guy is growing, learning, and changing so fast. He loves to smile, laugh, and talk so much. Owen has lots of fun rolling around playing with his toys. He is getting very good at rolling towards them, reaching, grabbing and taking them with him.

Today is also Jade's 3rd "anniversary" with Jake and I. We adopted her from the Wright County Humane Society 3 years ago. Owen really likes Jade! :)

Learning to sit

We're trying to help Owen sit by himself...and have had some luck! He still needs lots of practice though.
Supported by the Boppy pillow...

All by himself...

And on a toy...

Playing with feet...

Owen has been interested in his feet for quite a while now...but we haven't posted any pictures. These are just too cute to pass up!

Rolling over...Part 2

YAY! Owen has now conquered rolling over…in BOTH directions! From tummy to back was ages ago (or so it seems)…. Ha ha! But last night he was determined to roll over from his back onto his tummy and succeeded! It was the cutest thing ever…okay, so everything he does seems to be “the cutest thing ever.” But this was a great new accomplishment.

Here is the play-by-play:
There he was laying on his back, playing with his rattle…then suddenly over on his side…his right leg was kicking around (almost like he was trying to start a motorcycle)...he started to fuss and grunt…you could just tell he was really working for it…that dang arm/shoulder in the way again…and then BAM…on his tummy! He stayed on his tummy for a few seconds…the right back to his back again…smiling away. SO FUN! After two more times (yes, he instantly became a professional)…it was time to get ready for bed. I can’t wait to try again tonight!
